ART WAYANG

WAYANG In Gunungkidul based on the way the show and the kind of story there are 3 types, leather puppets, Puppet People and Wayang Beber, the only art there is in Hamlet puppet beber Event Village District Bejiharjo Karangmojo.
In contrast with shadow puppets, puppets beber is a show where wayangnya just a painting on a long piece of cloth. In the rolled-up cloth was described each scene that opened (dibeber) one by one according to the narration spoken by the mastermind. There is only one story, the story Bannerman, depicted in 29 scenes. The duration of the show about 3 hours. Musical accompaniment in the form: Kendang, fiddle, kenong and gong.



REOG
One of the attractions is the traditional art Gunungkidul Reog, which is a type of folk art that roots of the story Panji and usually played by 10 people, consisting of Penthul and chubby, udeng gilig soldier, warrior horse shows, penongsong and the soldiers, with drum accompaniment / dhodok, bendhe, kecrek and angklung.


CAMPURSARI
Campursari is ​​an original music from Gunungkidul. This music was introduced by Manthous (a songwriter and singer of the District campursari Playen). This music is a blend of traditional and modern music with different scales, namely penthatonis (musical) and diatonic.

TAYUP

One of the traditional arts that characterizes Gunungkidul is Tayub, the female dancers (called ledhek) who danced with the accompaniment of gamelan music to entertain the audience with a dance and then invite the audience to come to dance. Tayub presented in traditional ceremonies, as a means to invoke the safety, fertility, the coming of rain and expressed gratitude for the gift of the Creator.


KETHEK OGLENG
Is a folk dance drama that serves as entertainment for the community, which is presented after the harvest.This show illustrates the main character is a monkey (Java: kethek, which is identical to the human intangible Hanuman in the puppet characters. The theme of the story about one of the Bannerman story fragments in the cycle. Male dancer dressed in white monkey depicted articulate and sing, and three female dancers. One of the dancer's role as Endang Tompe Loro, which is nothing but a masquerade of the Goddess Sekartaji in an effort to find her husband, Panji Seputra.

 
RINDING GUMBENG

Is the art of music that becomes part of a harvest ritual. Rinding considered to have magical powers to bring about an imaginary figure of Dewi Sri. Art is believed was born long before people begin to recognize Gunungkidul metal. Art is born of the instinctive creativity, a sense of alloys which imbued the spirit of togetherness holobis tailless-line.
