WARUNGBOTO

Address: Jl. Veterans, Warungboto, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.GPS Coordinates: S7 ° 48'37 .2 "E110 ° 23'35 .2".
A beautiful ancient water garden designed to be very private and can be found in the region Warungboto. Water park was among Pesanggarahan Warungboto now in ruins.Pesanggrahan Warungboto and Water Garden Enchantment 19th Century.
When passing the Veterans Road (the road that leads to the right of the intersection before Happy Loka Zoo) and see the remains of buildings such as houses, you probably will miss it and thought that the building was an ordinary building. But, from now on, you must know that the building is quite historic because it is one of the guest house that was built by the second lane.
Evidence that the building is a historic building termuatnya name in a song which revolves around macapat lane II. In the song, the building is not called by the name Pesanggrahan Warungboto as many people call it now, but with the name Pesanggrahan Rejowinangun. Overall, macapat song itself tells of the progress made during the second lane.
Visiting this guesthouse for some people may be boring, because there was no grandeur that can be enjoyed. But is not no tourist should visit the magnificent places? Simple places, even the ruins were, certainly has appeal. YogYES who visited this place a few days ago can still find beauty in some corners even though much of the buildings that have been damaged.
We began exploring the building starting from the leading edge or directly adjacent to the highway. The frontispiece is a square with a floor made of stucco. Being situated at the front, this section may serve as a hall or lobby as in many existing buildings. From the forefront, we can see views of the entire complex guesthouse.
In the left part there is a staircase leading down a fairly narrow. We could tell immediately that this guesthouse building originally consisted of two floors, like other pesanggrahan buildings comprising ground floor and basement. To down it needs to be careful, because the right-left does not have a handle and a lot of parts that have been overgrown with moss so slippery.
In the basement of this, many fascinating parts of the building can be seen. The most beautiful is the garden area which is equipped with two ponds. Swimming first circular diameter of 4.5 meters and the center has a water fountain or pennant source. Meanwhile, the two square-shaped pool with the size of 10 meters x 4 meters. Both ponds were interconnected, marked by a hole of water channels that can be seen clearly from the second pond.
We were truly amazed by the architecture of the building rest house when he was in this garden area. How not, rest house built in the 1800s has been to design a garden with a pool of personal nature, surrounded by the buildings around it so it can not be seen from the outside. In addition, the walls that surround it also looked high and thick, indicating the robustness of the buildings in the past.
In the north and south of the pool there is a door wide enough plays. The door that connects with other parts of the basement. In the eastern part of the pool will be found the windows of three pieces, one square and two other curved on the top .. While in the western part of the pool there is an arched-top door, menghgubungkan with two arches next door which is equipped with some stairs. The last two doors connecting the garden area which is under the ground with the ground floor.
If you go back to the ground floor and explore the south side of the building, will be found some debris wall. Chances are, the wall was a barrier between the room guesthouse. There is a unique part of the wall, because the surface is not smooth, probably used to have ornaments. One wall is still very strong at the very front of the south side. On the wall, there are some square-shaped windows.
Actually, as recorded by the Department of Antiquities in 1980, still there are some ornaments that can be encountered. Among the garuda statue at the south side, a statue of the dragon on the east side and the flower pot, which is one component of the pond. Unfortunately, YogYES not meet him during a visit despite venturing into every corner. Maybe you can look it up if you visit this place. Who knew that we only missed it?
If you want to visit, you can get through some alternative path. Most easily when you visit before or after a trip to the region Kotagede. If a visit prior to Kotagede, you can pass Kusumanegara Road until the intersection SGM milk factory, then turn right. Meanwhile, if you visit after the Kotagede, you live through Ngeksigondo Road to the west until the intersection heading Gambiran refueling and turn right.
This guesthouse is quite easy to reach and can be visited without spending a dime fees. One is for sure, you travel to Yogyakarta will be more complete because it can be visited Pesanggrahan Warungboto supposedly worn by the Palace Ngayogyakarta to meditate and undergo behavior is concerned.
