Situs Megalitik Sokoliman
| Megalithic Sites Sokoliman Located in the Village II Village Sokoliman Bejiharjo Karangmojo District. The site is formed in a period prehistoric menhir, menhirs and fragments of wall rock tomb. In 1934 Jl Moens and Van der Hoop conduct research at this site and find the stock tomb shaped beads, aalat-iron tools, fragments of pottery and bronze objects.  In 1989 BP3 (Archaeological Heritage Preservation Hall) DIY make corrections and collect the scattered menhirs. Communities around the site called by the name of "Tombs Budho". In the megalithic period, menhir is a manifestation of community leaders who had died and the media worship of ancestral spirits. Sokoliman megalithic culture has a privilege, especially in menhirnya, ie at the top of the carved human face. Menhir is found in the field Sokoliman. Stone is expected to place humans at the time of worship and a symbol of power or of certain events, such as war. Number of stones pretty much around 140 pieces. Five of them larger than others, and this is called Saka Five pole, which means that the number five and is suspected as the origin of the name Sokoliman. |
